USD 247 and the Crawford County Health Department Release Statement on Positive COVID-19 Cases

The USD 247 School District was notified by the Crawford County Health Department on November 11, 2020 that one student and one teacher at Southeast Elementary School have tested positive for COVID-19.  In cooperation with the Crawford County Health Department, we are following tracing protocol and individuals in contact with the student and teacher will be notified by the Crawford County Health Department for further instructions.

Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 will isolate and not be present at school for a minimum of 10 days or until they have been released by their healthcare provider and the health department.  In addition, students/staff who were in close contact, per the county health department guidelines, will need to be quarantined for 14 days. A modified quarantine on campus is possible for close contacts identified at school in these cases.

As per our established protocol, we will thoroughly clean and disinfect the spaces in our building where the student and teacher were present.  Mitigation efforts will be adjusted as recommendations from the Health Department are received. We are closely monitoring this situation and will provide you with updates as we know more.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
