USD 247 Releases Weekly Update on Positive COVID-19 Cases

For the week of January 11 through January 15, the USD 247 School District reports a total of two students, one at Southeast Elementary School and one at Southeast High School, that have tested positive for COVID-19.  No staff were identified as positive cases this week.  In cooperation with the Crawford County Health Department, tracing protocol was followed and individuals in contact with these positive cases were notified by the school district and the Crawford County Health Department with further instructions.

Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 will isolate and not be present at school for a minimum of 10 days or until they have been released by their healthcare provider and the health department.  In addition, students/staff who are identified as high risk close contacts are required to quarantine per county health department guidelines.

As per our established protocol, we thoroughly cleaned and disinfected spaces in our buildings where the positive cases were present.  Mitigation efforts will be adjusted as recommendations from the Health Department are received. We continue to closely monitoring positive cases and will provide you with updates as we know more.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Dr. Brad Miner, Superintendent of Schools
