School Board Designates Monday, April 5, as a Make Up Day for Inclement Weather

Attention All Southeast USD 247 Parents/Guardians:

As you know, school was dismissed two days early in November prior to Thanksgiving break.  This was a time when we had a spike in COVID cases and quarantines.  Those two days were treated like “snow days” and were used to deep clean and sanitize our facilities.  In February came the snow and ice and school was closed for six days.

At their regular board of education meeting, March 8th, the board took action to forgive all of the missed days except for 1, which would be needed to meet the minimum hours required by the state for students to attend.  Seeing more value in making up days earlier in the year as opposed to adding days at the end of the year, the board voted to have school on Monday, April 5 (Easter Monday), which was originally scheduled as a day off.
