SHS STUDENTS PLACE AT ART FAIR

Southeast High School Art teacher, Melanie Evitts, took a group of her students to the Three Rivers League Art Fair at Jayhawk Linn, on April 7th. Several of those students brought home ribbons. Senior Taylor Hudgins of McCune, placed 1st and 2nd in photography. Senior Railey Robertson, of Cherokee, took 3rd place in painting: watercolors and washes. And Senior Allyson Nippoldt of McCune, placed 3rd in painting: acrylic & oil. The students also participated in 4 on site competitions, and watched and participated in 3 different artist demonstrations, including wheel throwing pottery, chainsaw art, and raku firing.
