Sixth Graders Study Volcanoes
Mrs. Hobbs and Mrs. Collins’s 6th grade classes did a unit on volcanoes. Students learned the difference between three different types. They are shield volcano, stratovolcano, and cinder. Each student drew a popular volcano out of a hat. Once they were assigned their volcano, they had to do internet research and write a report about that volcano. After they presented their report, they made a model of their volcano out of salt dough, painted them, and watched them erupt.
