2nd Annual Cherokee County Summer Virtual Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge

Do you know an elementary, middle, or high school student with their own business (lemonade stand, lawn mowing, babysitting, etc.) or a student who is always full of great ideas? If so, please let them know about our 2nd Annual Cherokee County Summer Virtual Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge for which students will create a 2 to 5 minute video pitching their business or business idea for a chance at cash prizes.

This event is open to students entering 1st through 12th grade in the fall (2021) who are Cherokee County residents and/or attend the Baxter Springs, Columbus, Galena, Riverton, or Southeast school districts. Students will compete in three divisions: Elementary, Middle School, and High School. Cherokee County Economic Development will be awarding a $300 1st prize, $200 2nd prize, and $100 3rd prize in each division.

Videos will be accepted through June 18th. Judging will happen the following week, and winners will be announced on June 25th. Students should visit https://goventuredash.com/competitions/128 for more information and to enter. Cherokee County Economic Development will also be sharing information on the event regularly on their Youth Entrepreneur Fair Facebook page.
