Bouncing back from two consecutive losses, the Southeast
Lancers (4-3) outmatched the
winless Neodesha Blue Streaks
(0-7) on Friday, 43-7.
The Lancers piled on the
points from the opening whistle chalking up 43 unanswered
through three quarters. In the
final quarter, Neodesha scored
the team’s lone touchdown,
where the gap became too large
for the Blue Streaks to muster a
comeback.
Southeast senior Cash Windsor led the Lancers offensively,
rushing the ball eight times for
59 yards and three touchdowns.
Senior Cullen Mutz provided a
vital effort in the running game,
running the ball seven times for
72 yards. In the pocket, senior
Nate Jacobs passed two touchdowns for 81 yards. Sophomore
Deric Mitchel accounted for
both of Jacobs’ touchdowns.
Overall, the Lancers totaled
276 yards on offense.
Defensively, the Lancers totaled 42 tackles, 17 assisted tackles, three tackles for loss and
one interception. Brandon Favuzzi and Quintonn Lundsford
led the Lancers in tackles finishing Friday’s game with six each.
Following the victory, the
Lancers stay home in Cherokee
for a non-conference against
the Fredonia Yellowjackets (3-
4). Southeast battles a Fredonia
team that has been streaky this
season, unable to win two consecutive games. Fredonia previously played Riverton in week
seven, where the Yellowjackets
narrowly defeated the Rams 30-
28.
With Southeast’s victory over
the Blue Streaks, the Lancers
will finish the regular season
with a winning record. Southeast will look to add to the winning record on Friday against a
Yellowjackets team that defeated the Lancers last season, 27-6.
The kickoff begins at 7 p.m. Senior Night and Pink Out
