Southeast Elementary and Middle Schools Receive Challenge Award

CHEROKEE and WEIR – Kansas State Board of Education board member, Jim Porter, attended the USD 247 Board of Education meeting on March 14 to award both the elementary and middle schools with the Challenge Award.  This award is based upon state math and reading assessment scores from last spring (2021).

“I was very honored to accept this award on behalf of SES.  From the hard work and dedication from both staff and students, this award symbolizes academic achievement when facing challenging circumstances. Even during challenging times, our staff and students are focused and determined to do their best daily.” – Tammie Hall, Southeast Elementary School (SES) Principal

“To receive the Challenge Award during such a challenging year is a great reflection of the dedication and hard work that the students, staff, and families put in last year and I am extremely proud of all their efforts.” – Nick Hansen, Southeast Middle School (SMS) Principal
