CHEROKEE – Southeast Student Council (STUCO) will start a fundraiser tomorrow (Tuesday 4/19) for the Ukrainian Student League, which supports Ukrainian people in hot spots. This organization is comprised of college students from across Ukraine working to help those in need. Our very own Ukrainian foreign exchange student, Sonya Zhestokova, knows some members of the organization, including one who was her leader in the regional Student Council of which Sonya was a member while in Ukraine.

Starting Tuesday, STUCO members will sell a paper hand to the students for $1. They can sign their name on the hand and hang it on the wall. STUCO officers will also ask local businesses if they want to donate. Below is a sheet STUCO prepared with information about Sonya.
