Southeast Elementary and Middle Schools Receive Challenge Award

CHEROKEE and WEIR – Kansas State Board of Education board member, Jim Porter, attended the USD 247 Board of Education meeting on March 10 to award both the elementary and middle schools with the Challenge Award.  This award is based upon state math and reading assessment scores from last spring (2022).

“I was very honored and proud to accept this award on behalf of the SES students and staff.  From the hard work, time, energy, and dedication from both staff and students, this award symbolizes academic achievement when facing challenging circumstances. Even during challenging times, our staff and students are focused and determined to do their best daily.  We are Southeast!” – Tammie Hall, Southeast Elementary School (SES) Principal

“Congratulations to the students and staff at Southeast Middle School for earning the Challenge Award for the second consecutive year.  Our students and staff work hard on a daily basis to achieve high levels of success and this award is in recognition of their continued hard work.” – Nick Hansen, Southeast Middle School (SMS) Principal
