On October 6, 2026, Southeast High School hosted Apply Kansas and Career Day for the senior class.

To encourage more Kansans to continue their education, all 32 public colleges and universities in Kansas and most of the private institutions allow students to apply for free on Monday, October 5 – Friday, October 9 in a statewide effort to break down barriers to higher education.

Kansas Apply Free Days is during Apply Kansas month, a state wide application campaign held annually in October that helps support 12th grade students in the completion of applications based on their post-secondary plans.

Attending a college or university is not for everyone. We support our students and their post-secondary plans, and we encourage students to find a career or job that fits their needs and wants.

Independence Community College, Kansas State University, Pittsburg State University, and Labette Community College were present to help and assist any student with their applications.

Students that plan to go into the workforce or the United States Military were given the time to set up job shadow opportunities and discuss how we can help them meet their goals.
