SHS Varsity Volleyball goes 1-1 in Altamont

“The girls really stepped up tonight,” Coach Maya White said after the SHS Varsity Volleyball team finished 1-1 on Thursday in Altamont. “Playing more consistent than they have. They limited their serving and serve receive errors. They did a good job working together as a team playing for a common goal.”

Southeast is now 4-10.

Against Chanute, Southeast went 18-25 and 20-25. Olivia Powell and Madison Bone had 3 blocks each. Kalyn Bitner and Maggie Renn each had 5 blocks.

Against Labette County, Southeast went 25-20, 21-25 and 25-16. Madison Bone had 16 assists. Maggie Renn had 7 kills. Olivia Powell had 3 blocks and 11 digs. Bailee Ulery had 8 digs and 3 blocks. Kalyn Bitner had 6 kills and 5 blocks. Katie Horsman had 6 digs.

The SHS Varsity Volleyball team will participate in the Cherryvale Tournament this weekend. They play play at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday against Uniontown, 10:30 a.m. vs Yates Center, 12:30 p.m. vs Colgan, and at 1:30 vs Wichita Defenders.
