On September 6th, Southeast Junior High and Southeast High School cheer squads went to a spirit spreader workshop in Chanute, KS. They rode the bus over in the morning and started warming up when they arrived. UCA cheerleaders taught a couple of cheers and helped everyone with their technique. They taught jumps and helped to improve them. The UCA cheerleaders also choreographed a short hip-hop dance and taught that as well. When it was lunchtime the squads ate at El Pueblito. After lunch everyone played a game and worked on stunts. Overall the spirit spreader was a fun event that really helped to improve technique and taught new skill.

Our Southeast Junior High cheerleaders went to Chanute on the 6th of September for a spirit spreader. We learned a dance and a cheer from UCA. Then, we played a game where you had to guess what the “it” person in the group was, based on nothing but their hand movements. Then, we went to eat at El Pueblito for lunch. When we got back from lunch we did stunts. Our bases were Zoe Hendricks, Kalle Bitner, Madison Warner, and Kaylee Mutz. Our flyer was Audrey Jacobs, and the back spot was Kailynn Martin. Since we are just starting stunts we started out with a fairly easy stunt. W
hen we finished we took a group picture with the high school cheerleaders and headed home.
