SHS Volleyball Goes 1-1 in Frontenac

Southeast goes 1-1 against Frontenac on October 3rd in a triangular against Parsons and Frontenac.

Vs. Parsons
25-17, 16-25, 25-13
Sr. Katie Bitner had 7 kills and 10 assists
Jr. Railey Robertson had 8 kills and 8 digs
Fr. Lily Webster had 3 aces, 5 kills, and 2 blocks
Sr. Jordan Jameson had 9 digs

“Against Parsons we played well the first set, but lost our focus on the second set and made too many errors.  The third set we really started to play with more ball control and limited our errors.  The energy level picked up and we were able to come away with the win.” – Coach Maya White

Vs. Frontenac
5-25, 14-25
Jr. Railey Robertson had 5 kills
Sr. Jordan Jameson had 10 digs

“We came out slow and timid and it showed.  I think they were up on us 17-1 before we broke the serve in the first set.  Frontenac has a strong offense and we gave them too many free balls, and they were able to convert them to points pretty fast.  The second set was a little better.  Our passing got better and we were able to set up our hitters.  Jordan Jameson and our defensive specialists made some great digs to keep the ball alive, but we were not able to put the ball away enough.  We will use this match to better ourselves because we know we are not where we want to be right now.” – Head Coach Maya White

Our next matches are league night October 8th at Oswego in a triangular with Northeast and Oswego.  Our record is now 14-12.

Our JV played in a quad at Labette County and went 1-2 tonight.  They won against Parsons and lost against Frontenac and Labette County.
