Senior captain Kailynn Martin’s thoughts on tonight’s matches. ” We came out as a team and ready to play tonight. We competed with good teams and did not back down from them. We did not play as good as we could have while playing against Erie, but we learned from it. We have a lot of underclassmen this year and I could not be any prouder on how they played tonight! This is going to be a good year. ” Fellow senior captain Kalle Bitner agreed with Kailynn on the outlook for the season but followed it up with, ” tonight also showed us that we have to keep improving and working on the little things.”
“Our goals have been to come out hard and improve every match. And I think we did that the majority of the night. The 2nd set against Erie we lost focus and stopped doing the little things like ball control and talking. We picked it up the 3rd set but it was a little late. But I saw a lot of great things. We served really well for the night and our back court played well. We played some good teams and they helped reveal some of the areas we need to work on defensively. We know we have to get stronger and smarter at the net, and I feel our setting and attackers are improving each match. It was exciting to see some of the things we practiced this week put into play tonight.” – Head Coach Maya White

Our next match is a home Duel with Galena on Thursday, Sept. 9th.
