Southeast Varsity loses in 4 to Galena. 25-22, 19-25, 22-25, 23-25

“Tonight we lacked energy from the start, and did not play as a team very well. We had a lot of good moments. There was a lot of individual improvement but our team play was not as consistent as it needed to be. We made a lot of errors and were not able to get our momentum rolling. Every set we started out behind and had to play catch up. Galena hustled a lot and kept the ball alive. We just were not able to put it together consistently. Our serving was strong again with 14 ace, with 10 of those Aces from Sr. Kalle Bitner and Jr. Kinzey Cassidy with 5 a piece. We have been working on our offense and earning more points at the net. We did do a better job tonight but made more errors along the way. All our hitters, including Fr. Teagan Warne, have been working hard and are continuing to get stronger each match. Jr. Malia Vinson led with 10 kills and Bitner and freshman Bella Tavernaro had 7 kills each. Our defense improved throughout the night. Our libero Kailynn Martin had 28 digs, Zoey Tavernaro had 20 digs and Vinson had 18. Our setters Fr. Natalie Wells and Kinzey Cassidy are continuing to improve with Cassidy finishing the night with 17 assists. We have a quad this Tuesday where we will be working toward limiting our errors and becoming smarter and more aggressive at the net. “- Head Coach Maya White
