Southeast Volleyball season ended this weekend after falling short during the first round of Substate at Erie. The number sixth seed Southeast played the number three Erie Red Devils in the first round. We lost the first set 16-25. The second set was a tighter match. The girls worked hard and played well defensively. Our blocking picked up the second set also, but we still fell short 23-25. Erie went on to the finals and became substate runners up after losing to Colgan.

Here are the final stats for the night

Sr. Malia Vinson had 4 kills, 3 assisted blocks, 6 digs, 4 perfect serve receive passes

Sr. Zoey Tavernaro had 8 digs, 5 perfect serve receive passes

Jr. Kinzey Cassidy had 3 kills, 2 digs, 4 perfect serve receive passes, 2 assists

So. Charlee Gideon had 1 assisted block

So. Eliz White had 2 kills, 2 assisted blocks, 2 digs, 7 assists

So. Jade Peak had 2 kills, 1 perfect serve receive pass

So. Bella Tavernaro had 1 ace, 2 kills, 4 digs, 3 perfect serve receive passes

We had a great bench and awesome team spirit during the match.

This season these young ladies grew not only as volleyball players but as young women from Jv to varsity. We had a lot of challenges that we had to adjust to, but they showed a lot of tenacity. I was proud of the way they handled themselves and grew as young women.

We ended our season 11-25. Maya White
