“The first tournament is always good to get out and play some competition to see what is working well, what we need to work on, and what things we need to change. After today we got all those questions answered. There were a lot of good things that happened today. We improved from the first to the last match. Senior Malia Vinson came out strong and had 16 kills in our first match, which was a personal best for her. First year setter sophomore Eliz White had 22 assists in her first match as well, so that was great to see. We had a lot of great plays and we implemented or tried to implement some things we just learned in practice 1 to 2 days ago. We do have a lot of things to work on, but I have confidence that our girls will rise up to the challenge and our senior leadership, lead by Malia Vinson and Zoey Tavernaro, will help get them there. Our record today (1-4) hopefully will help motivate us to work hard in practice to improve on our weaknesses.” – Head Coach, Maya White
